It is so important to give our at-risk youth a valued social role and to help them make positive community connections. This is just one piece of the mission for our new Youth Development Center opening in Holyoke. Be part of something amazing this holiday season! We were invited to fill a niche in a neighborhood that is not only a home to families in need but to youth who strive to do better but may just need a guiding light. Gandara's new youth development site will provide kids with volunteer opportunities with a skills development focus along with health and education outreach, vocational and computer literacy skills as well as a therapeutic arts enrichment program. The center is a warm, welcoming, safe place for youth in our programs and in the community to access staff who understand their unique needs, socialize with other youth that share similar situations and be referred to educational and preventative programs that not only they can benefit from, but that they can pass on to their peers and family members.
